A turkey was chatting with a bull “I would love to be able to get to the top of that tree,” sighed the turkey, but I haven’t got the energy.” “Well, why don’t you nibble on my droppings?” replied the bull. “They’re packed with nutrients.” The turkey pecked at a lump of dung and found that it gave him enough strength to reach the lowest branch of the tree. The next day, after eating some more dung, he reached the second branch. Finally after a fourth night, there he was proudly perched at the top of the tree. Soon he was spotted by a farmer, who shot the turkey out of the tree.

Moral of the story: Bullshit might get you to the top, but it wont keep you there.

Nak baju reception macam ni, boleh? Cantik sangat! Ok kalau aku pakai maybe tak cantik sangat kot...

Teaser: Busana majlis pertunangan

Bright much? Hahaha! Kain ni dibeli online daripada Kak Wina. Kak Wina ni asalnya orang Penang tapi dia kahwin dengan orang Indonesia, jadi sekarang dia menetap di Indonesia. Dia ada bisnes jual kain secara online. Jumpa Kak Wina pun sebab Miza yang kenalkan. Apparently diorang ni Blogger buddies. Memang rambang mata pilih mana satu yang nak beli. 

And guess what? Last-last your truly angkut 5 pasang! 3 pasang kebaya and 2 pasang kurung. Tapi dapat save posting cost tau, sebab masa beli ni Kak Wina nak balik Malaysia melawat family dia. Jadi dia post dari Penang instead of Indonesia. Jimat pos!

Masa beli kain-kain ni, takdak niat langsung nak buat pakai tunang. Niatnya nak buat baju raya atau baju function/dinner. Masa tu plan nak bertunang pun belum ada! Sebab baru je serious ngan Zombee. Bila kain dah sampai, this one is my favourite. Kain ni 2M beaded lace + 2M satin untuk set kurung moden. Warna asal gelap sikit dari gambar, and more to maroon than bright pink like above. 

Masa dah plan bertunang, decide nak guna kain ni buat baju tunang sebab masa tu dah beli kain-kain ni dekat 5 bulan tapi tak tempah satu pun lagi! Lepas decide tu, datang idea nak buat baju nikah pakai 1 set kain lagi yang dibeli dari Kak Wina jugak! Warna cream, french lace juga untuk set kurung modern. Tapi yang tu secret dulu, tak boleh tunjuk lagi ye!

Sekarang kain dah hantar pada tailor. She's my mom's tailor dan dah jahit banyak baju kurung yang design-design mencabar (read:pelik) for my mom. Apparently she has been a tailor since 1973 (baca banner kat kedai dia masa hantar kain hari tu). So hopefully dia dapat jahit ikut design yang dibincang sama-sama dulu. Harga pun affordable, tak mahal sangat.

Tak sabar nak tunggu siap! :)

DIY trays

It's the first day of the mid-sem break. I woke up early, found out I've been (finally) called to the SPP interview, and planned a berbuka BBQ with my besties. I have so much time left at hand, it's not even noon yet! 

So I took out my tool kit and my trays, and experimented with several designs to decorate the trays. Oh yes, I'm going to DIY all the trays. Simply because I can save money, and I want to put some effort in preparing them. Plus the designs in the stores are not always pretty, right? I've been having some ideas on the back of my mind and I could finally try them out. But I still can't decide what design I'm gonna use this December. Hurm, which one do you find attractive?

Sorry for the bad picture quality. My new camera is supposedly more canggih and all, but somehow the pictures suck! Or maybe I need to tweak the settings here and there. Oh well. 

As for the trays, I might find new ideas and try them out and love them. But most importantly, selamat bercuti and Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri everyone!

Perseid meteor shower

This week marks the annual return of the Perseid meteor shower, the most reliable meteor shower of the year, though the full moon may interfere with this year's display.

The Perseid meteor shower peaks this week in the overnight hours of Friday and Saturday (Aug. 12 and 13) just before the full moon hits its maximum brightness.

p/s: A meteor shower on my birthday, every year. Someone said it is because I'm special. ;)
